This powerful and thought-provoking film uncovers the hidden stories of eight female couples whose lives and relationships were intertwined with the struggle for Irish independence. Exploring the lives of revolutionary women including Dr Kathleen Lynn and Madeleine ffrench-Mullen, Elizabeth O’Farrell and Julia Grenan, Helena Molony and Evelyn O’Brien, and Nora O’Keefe and Margaret Skinnider, the documentary shines a light on those whose contributions to Ireland’s fight for freedom have often been overlooked.
Through expert contributions and historical research, Croíthe Radacacha expands our understanding of the revolutionary period while celebrating the courage, activism and love of women who challenged convention and fought for equality, freedom and social change.
