Literary Morning at the Hibernian Hotel

Join us for a wonderful celebration of literature, storytelling and creativity as part of Mallow Arts Festival 2026.
This special Literary Morning will feature acclaimed author Danielle McLaughlin in conversation with Elaine Desmond, offering audiences a unique insight into the craft of writing, the creative process, and contemporary Irish literature.
The morning will also showcase readings from members of the Mallow Scribes writing group, including Tim Casey, Ger O’Callaghan, Mai Raffery and Joanna Foley-Carroll, highlighting the wealth of literary talent within our community.
Adding to the programme will be performances by drama students Marie Coleman and Aoife Cregg, alongside readings from authors Elaine Desmond, David O’Doherty, Gene Murphy and Vanessa Santano.

Poetry Reading & Workshop with Molly Twomey

The Mallow Arts Festival is delighted to welcome Molly Twomey for a special Poetry Reading and Workshop at Mallow Library.

Following the success of her acclaimed debut collection Raised Among Vultures, Molly has recently released her second poetry collection, Chic to be Sad. This event offers a unique opportunity to hear Molly read from her work, gain insight into her creative process, and take part in an engaging poetry workshop.

Whether you’re an experienced writer, an aspiring poet, or simply someone who enjoys contemporary poetry, this promises to be an inspiring and thought-provoking afternoon.

Yoga at the Castle

Join us for a truly special experience this summer as we bring yoga to the stunning grounds of Mallow Castle. Instructor Lorraine will guide you through a slow and steady yoga class, concluding with a long, relaxing meditation in one of Mallow’s most beautiful and serene settings.

Regular yoga practice is known to improve flexibility, reduce stress, and promote both physical and mental wellbeing — and what better place to experience those benefits than the peaceful surroundings of Mallow Castle!

Suitable for all levels, including complete beginners, so there’s no reason not to give it a try.

Dreamcatcher Making Workshop

Get creative this summer at our Dreamcatcher Making Workshop, taking place on Saturday 26th July from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at West End Art Studio, 160 West End, Mallow, Co. Cork (P51 N4FR).

Under guided instruction, you’ll craft your very own beautiful dreamcatcher using bamboo or metal hoops, colourful yarns, beads, and feathers — and take it home as a unique keepsake. No experience necessary, and all materials are included!

This is a wonderful opportunity to relax, get creative, and connect with fellow craft lovers in a fun and welcoming environment.

Sean Keane makes a long-awaited return to Mallow on Friday 24th July, headlining at St James’ Church of Ireland from 8pm to 10pm.
