Written with an ADHD-friendly approach, this practical and relatable guide is aimed especially at adults who received an ADHD diagnosis later in life. Featuring personal stories, expert insights, useful resources and interviews with artists, writers, medics and innovators, the book offers an honest and empowering look at life with ADHD in Ireland.

As ADHD Ireland CEO Ken Kilbride notes, “Living with ADHD isn’t about fixing yourself – it’s about understanding yourself and embracing the person you already are.”

This free event is part of Mallow Arts Festival 2026 and offers a welcoming opportunity to learn more, ask questions and hear directly from the authors.

This powerful memoir transforms over 350 years of Belfast’s history into a deeply personal and compelling family story. Beginning with an unfinished manuscript left behind by his father, Diarmuid Ó Tuama, Séamus weaves together family memories, community history and lived experience to tell the story of Belfast through four generations of one extraordinary family.

From the aftermath of the Famine and Victorian Belfast, through the upheavals of the Troubles and into the cultural revival that helped create one of Ireland’s most vibrant urban Gaeltacht communities, Béal Feirste: Belfast offers a unique perspective on the city’s past and present.

This special Literary Morning will feature acclaimed author Danielle McLaughlin in conversation with Elaine Desmond, offering audiences a unique insight into the craft of writing, the creative process, and contemporary Irish literature.
The morning will also showcase readings from members of the Mallow Scribes writing group, including Tim Casey, Ger O’Callaghan, Mai Raffery and Joanna Foley-Carroll, highlighting the wealth of literary talent within our community.
Adding to the programme will be performances by drama students Marie Coleman and Aoife Cregg, alongside readings from authors Elaine Desmond, David O’Doherty, Gene Murphy and Vanessa Santano.
