Literary Morning at the Hibernian Hotel

Join us for a wonderful celebration of literature, storytelling and creativity as part of Mallow Arts Festival 2026.
This special Literary Morning will feature acclaimed author Danielle McLaughlin in conversation with Elaine Desmond, offering audiences a unique insight into the craft of writing, the creative process, and contemporary Irish literature.
The morning will also showcase readings from members of the Mallow Scribes writing group, including Tim Casey, Ger O’Callaghan, Mai Raffery and Joanna Foley-Carroll, highlighting the wealth of literary talent within our community.
Adding to the programme will be performances by drama students Marie Coleman and Aoife Cregg, alongside readings from authors Elaine Desmond, David O’Doherty, Gene Murphy and Vanessa Santano.

Poetry Reading & Workshop with Molly Twomey

The Mallow Arts Festival is delighted to welcome Molly Twomey for a special Poetry Reading and Workshop at Mallow Library.

Following the success of her acclaimed debut collection Raised Among Vultures, Molly has recently released her second poetry collection, Chic to be Sad. This event offers a unique opportunity to hear Molly read from her work, gain insight into her creative process, and take part in an engaging poetry workshop.

Whether you’re an experienced writer, an aspiring poet, or simply someone who enjoys contemporary poetry, this promises to be an inspiring and thought-provoking afternoon.

Book Launch: Scripts for Schools by Mai Rafferty

We are delighted to share news of an exciting upcoming event โ€” the launch of Scripts for Schools, a wonderful new collection of scripts by Mai Rafferty, covering concerts, parties, Scรณr, and drama.
The launch takes place on Friday 3rd July at 7:30pm in the Munster Room, Hibernian Hotel, and is a free event open to all.
The evening will feature entertainment by Uileann Ceoil and light refreshments, with proceeds going in aid of Cancer Connect โ€” a fantastic local charity providing transport to Cork hospitals.

Mallow Arts Lab Revisited

A limited number of copies of Mallow Arts Lab Revisited are now available at Philips Bookshop and the Mallow Bookshop.

Priced at just โ‚ฌ10, this fascinating anthology brings together poetry from the 1970s by Kevin Healy, Danny McCarthy, Gerard ‘Swifty’ Sweeney and Gerard Neville โ€” a wonderful snapshot of Mallow’s creative heritage.
